Yes, I have tried them out. I bought a pair last Christmas and installed them in my Stronglight crank that had previously been tapped out for Phil Wood CHPs. They work great, no problems. But, going against popularity, even though they are fine pedals and nice to look at, neither the TAs nor the Phil Wood CHPs are as light and as free spinning and as comfortable and as inexpensive as the Lyotard pedals that I replaced and hope soon to go back to (except that I now need to buy BSC threaded Lyotards).

What little experience I have in this area comes from a pair of Lyotard Marcel Berthet pedals I bought many years ago. Although they were sold as having BSC threads, I'm convinced that Lyotard were playing the same game that TA is these days. Anyway, when threaded into my TA crankset (with BSC threads!) then proved to be extraordinarily loose - so much so that I was concerned that merely tightening them would risk stripping the cranks. I couldn't believe that they would sustain real cycling loads and would have the same concerns about the TA pedals. But I love to be proven wrong, so if there is any real-world experiance with the TA pedals, please speak up! Best regards, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia
