Subject: [CR]Report on Atlanta Bike Show.

We travelled from Tampa to Atlanta and back this weekend for the Atlanta show (8 hrs each way). Here is the report.

First, let me express only admiration for the sponsors of the show. It is a lot of thankless work. It is little wonder few are willing to undertake such a venture.

Nonetheless, the show was a disappointment. Basically, it was a bunch of ballon-tired bikes and Sting-rays in a small room, with some displayed outside. I suppose, if you are into that kind of stuff, there was a good selection.

The promised "lightweight section" was evidently to be a group of bicycles donated to the club. These did not arrive for the Saturday evening "preview", but I was told they would be there on Sunday morning. We were at the opening on Sunday morning, and stuck around for a while, but the lightweights didn't arrive. Probably, they arrived sometime after we left, but we had a long drive to make, and couldn't wait.

Otherwise, there was a Colnago with gold trim, and a repainted Minton, and a few lightweight parts. But nothing worth the drive.

Well, traffic was terrible, and the show disappointing. Hey, but it was a nice weekend for a drive.
