HI,
I'm new to the list so here is a little introduction. I am just getting started in vintage lightweights and interested in just about everything. I don't have a functioning vintage bike yet but I have a 74'ish orange Schwinn world traveler and a 77 or 78 Trek tx900 that are in progress. I look forward to quickly learning as much as I can and can barely wait to experience the ride of these great bikes. Here is my question: I was wondering if anyone may have any info on a bike I have. It is probably from the 1970's or 80's and it is Italian. It has mostly Shimano 600 components (the braze on front derailleur is dura ace) and huge (early I think) areo bars; it also has tubular rims. The frame is all steel I think. The full rear triangle and fork are chrome. Both are also marked (engraved or stamped or forged??) DBS and the head tube has a DBS decal or paint. The top tube is fluted a little like some Colnago frames. It is also marked professional on the top tube, custom Daccordi on one chain stay and Daccordi is forged or stamped in the bottom bracket. The chrome is heavily rusted and one chainstay is actually rusted through. I want to know if it is worth trying to save or not. any info would be great thanks for your time Ken Illinois
