David's earlier post about Zunow has the answer for you. Contact Andy Muzi at Yellow Jersey. Andy was able to determine the year of my 3Rensho by the serial number. How rare is a matter of perception. 3Rensho never seemed to capture the minds of buyers, but were widely available for a short period of time. Even Performance offered them for a while. Still, Andy has more info than anyone I know.
