The Atala fixed gear tandem I am bringing to ride at the Cirque needs a half-link to maintain proper sync chain tension. It uses even count rings, either 42 or 44, on it's Record cranks. I have never tried odd count rings, but may try them if that oddball half-link ever gives out. I don't know where you can buy one of those things.

I have always attributed the condition to a sloppy build. Who knew you had to think about that? I always assumed an eccentric bottom bracket would accomodate any length of boob tube.

I don't think the builder considered brake reach either. I have to run some pretty extreme dropbolts front and rear to allow the standard reach campy side pulls to reach the 27 inch rims. I should probably switch to more correct Universal 61's.

The rainy forecast for Copake and Trexlertown has me a bit depressed. I still hope to make both (outdoor!) swap meets.
