Correct except for one detail: the tool is meant to hold a 7mm allen in the old PB wrench. C-rec, Croce, Victory (and maybe some 80's MTB stuff) had the built-in extractor and these required a 7mm allen. More recent Campy cranks use 8mm allens (a la Shimano!) and do not have built in extractors.
The built in extractor was added to some Campy products at the same time that Shimano was deleting it from their stuff. Campy's was better (bigger allen, left hand crank threads) but eventually they dumped it too. Of course, Shimano has added it back on to current DA. So now, for this little area of the bike I have 6, 7, and 8 mm allens, 14, 15 and 16 mm wrenches, Campy left-hand, Campy right-hand, Maxi type and Shimano billet-type pullers in 22mm, plus 23mm and 23.35 mm frenchie pullers, the Shimano removal tool for their removal tool, and the Campy removal tool for their removel tool, and of course the BRC chaser for rectifying 22mm RH threads. I guess I still "need" the subject Campy adapter too. By my count, excluding the chaser, were talking 14 tools to keep your crank installation and removal bases covered for cotterless stuff since the 70's.... It may be worse than old freewheels! Then there's the issue with newer chains!
