Ken Skrzypek, Joe Bender-Zanoni, Mike Rawlings and I were also there. I was the one showing the bike off, but it was the my Major Nichols, not a Major Taylor.

There was some vintage stuff there, but not in great profusion. I picked up a set of NOS Pelliesier High Flange 36 hole hubs from Joe B-Z, who must have been suffering from mental confusion brought on by hypothermia as he was only asking $60. I snapped them up before he could come to his senses. My only other vintage buys were two pairs of string back gloves for $10 and 4 rolls of white cotton bar tape at $1 per roll. I did score plenty of general riding swag though, including a NOS Blackburn floor pump for $20, and 6 pairs of short liners for $5 each. Items seen but not purchased included a full panto Guerciotti with an asking price of something like $1600, a tubie wheel set with Tipo high flange hubs built with Fiamme red labels for $25 (I already have two sets of tubies I don't ride), a late 60's Paramount with a replacement fork and all wrong (but correct era) parts for $175 and a Nervar crank set that took Cyclotouriste style rings for $40 (I"m kicking myself for passing on that one.) One last item I really looked at was a full DB Reynolds 531 Bill Boston frame in fairly decent shape for $30. Alas, it was at least 27 inches (that's seat tube, not wheel size!) and I just didn't think I could make it work.

Otherwise there wasn't much vintage stuff, but it's always fun to meet and greet.

The post swap ride was good too, although one continues to wonder at regional differences in ride descriptions. In eastern PA, "not too hilly" and "easy pace" means "you only occasionally consider getting off and walking up" and "you won't quite spin out the 52x15". From my blurry, eyes crossed perspective dangling off the back of the pack, there was some nice iron in the ride, including my 81 Marinoni (it had lower gears than the Nichols), a late 70s Colnago, a pretty Batavus, an Atlantis, and the piece de resistance, a San Rensho tandem.
