I have seen some Chesini (Verona, Italy) bikes that had their logo engraved into the headtube and filled with paint in lieu of a head badge. They were early '80s bikes.

Also the 1986 Bianchi team bikes had the logo engraved into the headtube (the headtube had a black chrome finish) and filled in with gold paint. This was the year that Marino Argentin won the Worlds at Colorado Springs. They were the fanciest team bikes that I have ever seen.
