Well, not actually, because that would be painful...

First - If you are reading this and I'm due to ship you something that requires a trip to UPS, I'm sorry - I've still not gotten there yet, but things are properly boxed and lying about my living room. I've had tax time, extra time at work, errands to run to get my youngn' to the Jr Prom, organizing a ride at work, an article to write for the Southern Bicycle League newsletter, my refinancing paperwork and bikes to get ready for Cirque. Its no excuse, I know, but I periodically get overwhelmed. This is why I don't take money up front! My next project is to write and deliver a sales training to the rest of the sales staff at work the week after Cirque, arrgghh!

Secondly - it appears that my 49.00 E bay Raleigh Lenton, victim of a very slow seller, is making it's way EAST. I convinced the seller to drop the frame at a local bike shop to him, and they are shipping it to me. Should show up a few days after Cirque, like I won't be coming home empty-handed! Anyway, Joel at Cycle Path in Hayward Cal, who intercepted the frame for me, has the following commentary... The drop outs are a little bent (easy) the bottom bracket may be difficult to remove (oh no!) and the seller jammed a oversized seat post in the seat mast, which has caused the slot to be stretched out and may require a soak with liquid wrench and some careful tweaking to remove.

Still, its got a great head badge and is serial number 91445-RA. Its the last one of my scheduled current bike projects to complete and I've only just started to collect parts for it. I'm afraid that I'll end up with more bike projects after Cirque, which is either good or bad, I'm not sure. I feel like an air traffic controller, alternately scraping the bottom of the budget barrel and staging frames for visits to the painter.

Anyway, I may not be able to talk about the Lenton on the CR list anymore as it is not going to be all that era once I get through with it. Era styled, sure, but it's purpose is going to be an answer to my need for an upright city bike with 700c wheels and fenders, with serious cache! More of an IBOB kind of bike, but very cool.

Lastly - I am so looking forward to Cirque. I wish that I had more things completed and rolling to bring this year. I'm more look than show, as the Trek is not exactly "correct," as it is currently my daily rider, the Rapido, cool, but isn't exactly a Confente (but I bet he didn't make kid's drop bar road bikes) and the Monte is just a bare frame looking for a seat post and some drop out adjustment screws.

See you all in a couple of days!
