Subject: [CR]Cirque reports

Speaking for those of us who were unable to attend this year's cirque, I take the liberty of extending a heart felt thanks for the wonderful descriptions and photos that have so far been posted. What was a, "Wish I could go", is now a, "Really wish I had gone". No doubt one would of had to have been there to experience the full effect. Still in the very least, we take a vicarious pleasure in knowing that a great time was had by all, and that the spirit of the affair was one of comradeship and helpfulness.

The photo of Brian and Jan (the hug) that a number of people have commented on, it got me to thinking as well. Perhaps this could establish a new precedent for the celebration at the podium after a race. Instead of the little pecks on the cheeks that we are familiar with, a big bear hug like this only seems fitting for someone who has rode to victory in a two hundred plus kilometer race. Some of the Spanish climbers though, they look a little frail, so go easy on the bone crusher when they take the stand.
