CRs:

I was fortunate enough to buy a Pinarello Treviso in 1979 (SL tubes, 60 cm c-t, silver blue metallic); I purchased it from Ted Ernst when he had his small hole-in-the-wall shop in El Segundo, CA.

I liked the bike so much that I rode it for a good 13 years, including one San Francisco to Los Angeles ride (1980) and five double centuries (1 in 1980, three in 1981, one in 1987).

The lower BB (26 cm) gave better handling and the 74 degree seat angle fit me just right.

I've had the bike restored because the paint was so beat up that it just needed it. Even though it now doesn't have the 'patina' of use, and all of its NOS parts are 'period representative' rather than 'period correct', it's still an elegant and pretty bike.

It's my showpiece and I'll bring it to the Chuck's Velo Rendezvous so attendees can enjoy it.

Those interested can contact me off list if you want some pictures. I'll need to put my new digital camera to good use!

Andrew Gillis (windy in Long Beach, CA. One Italian bike, one British bike, one American bike!)
