<I cannot believe the number of customers who come in the shop, totally unable to change a flat on their 2500.00 road machine - and with no interest in learning how to

do so. They mostly just get unhappy that they cannot get us to do it instantly and stand around and sigh in their matching lycra, concerned that the hair might be growing out on their legs and reducing their aerodynamic advantage if they have to wait any longer.

How many of us go into a bike shop and ask them to change a flat?>

Say... maybe bike shops could just start offering a service something like "AAA for bicyclists"...you could just give them a ringy-dingy on the ol' cell phone and they send someone out to fix your flat or put the chain back on. You could even pin-point your location with your pocket GPS device (also offered for sale or rent, of course)! You can tell I'm getting weird from lack of rideable days in central PA this Spring. !@#$%^ lousy weather!!! Dave
