In case all this talk of "factory original" and "period correctness" has anyone on this list thinking that their bike is unworthy of being entered in a contest:

None of the shows I have attended were ever judged this stringently.

As an example, the Velo Rendezvous show in Pasadena (this year's will be the third) is judged as follows: "Judging of the bikes will be done by the entrants, and their first, second and third choice for best bike at the show will be tallied. Any criteria for judging the bikes can be used, however you cannot vote for your own bike."

If you want pink A'me brake hoods on your 1950 Bianchi Folgorissima be my guest!
