Hello All, For sale - $20 - or trade? Falcon frame and fork, I would guess from the early 60's, light blue in color, looks to be original paint but rough. 52 cm c-c seat tube, 57 cm c-c top tube, Coventry Eagle headbadge, foil Falcon decal on seat tube, steel headset, cottered b.b, Campy rear dropouts with the spring hole on drive side dropout. I have been hauling this frame around for over a decade and it needs to find a good home. Too small for me. Detailed photos available. Don't know much about the Falcon marque or the history of this particular frame.
Italvega Super Speciale early 70's frame and fork. No fittings, headset or b.b. Bare frame. $70/offer or trade? Open to suggestions on price since I don't really know the true value of the Italvega marque. Root beer brown paint in very good condition. Decals flaking off due to lack of top coat, but mostly still there. Chrome very good with light surface oxidation. This frame looks to have had very little use. Was built up at one time. Does have seat post bolt. Stamped 53 cm on underside of b.b. shell but I am guessing that Italvega measured from c-top of seat tube lug. The actual measurements are: 51.5 c-c seat tube 53.5 c-c top tube. Very nice frame! Detailed photos available. Makes a beautiful sustained ringing tone when you tap on it. Wish it was my size. Anyone have a Super Speciale frame in a 53 or 54 c-c they would like to trade? Or sell? I would like to find the green Super Speciale.
And, last but not least, an acquaintance is selling an Italvega Nuovo Record complete bicycle he bought new in '73. He is negotiable on the price. In very good shape, hasn't been ridden in many years. He doesn't want to deal with e-bay so I offered to offer it to the list. Too big for me. I have many photos of the bike, and I can forward his e-mail address to anyone interested. I stand to gain nothing from this. Just want to see this bike go to a good home.
Now, the question(s). Thanks to Steven Maasland, I have finally gotten a better idea when my Cinelli frame was made. I am putting it at the mid to late 50's. And so, I am on the lookout for Magistroni bits, like a crankset, b.b, and headset. I know, dream on, but it doesn't hurt to put it out there. I really would like to get this resto done by October for the So. Cal. event, which may be pushing it since I need literally everything for this frame.
Is there a way of spreading clamp on fittings without damaging or wrinkling the chrome?
