I confess, my last 3 sets of wheels were new rims with old hubs and both Mavic and Torelli rims have the rim label located neatly over the rim seam - 180 desgrees from the valve hole
No, I didn't measure to make sure the valve stem was located exactly in the middle of the tire label, I just eyeballed it <g>.
