Subject: [CR]Introduction to a CR Rookie (and Miele Info)

Greetings

I have been trying to find the time to introduce myself, my name is Wayne Jolly and just now I thought I could deliver a little information about myself and the former operations of the Miele Bicycle Company

My first road bike was a 1968 CCM with a 3 Speed Sturmey Archer hub, manufactured in Weston, Ontario, it was hardly a lightweight but she took me everywhere. My next significant road bike was a white mid tier 1971 Peugeot with three front chain rings (UO-8 ?), man could she climb. I never had to get off to push a bike again, until I sold my white 15 spd steed !

Well lots of time has passed, and have owned Kestrels and Konas, KHS's and Raleighs and each deliver fond memories of great rides. Over the past months since discovering CR, you have allowed me insight into a wonderful group of comrades, across this continent and into others I travel electronically each day . In the world of cyber-space the CR Listmembers are a genuine "Community of Practice", sharing true insight, historical perspectives, cycling knowledge and fun. Thanks.

Now, the MIELE part I remember being told by a reliable source that....." The last inventory materials were mostly tube sets and lugs and recently were purchased before the premises were turned over to new tenants." I am not the ebay seller, or the owner of any Miele memorabilia.

Create a great day wherever you are !!. Wayne Jolly, Toronto (where it's dark now and below 55 degrees)
