Subject: [CR]Parts FS: Help pay for Tandem!

Having yielded to temptation on the Assenmacher Tandem, I now have to pay for it. The following parts are for sale. Shipping is included for the US, and method will be US Postal. International, contact me for a shipping surcharge. Discount on shipping for multiple items. Stay tuned for the bike sale, coming next. 1st response with promise to pay gets the item.

a. Velox white bar plugs. 7 sets for sale, NOS still in the card, but shop worn. Ivory color. Look pretty good after washing. $13 a pair, or $11a pair if buying more than one.

b. Dura Ace Crank set. 170 mm, old style fluted arms, 39 x 52 teeth, ridden very little, old style slotted rings look great. No-mark unknown chainring bolts with some corrosion on nuts, no dust caps or bb. Tapers and threads look good. $60

c. Ideale 39 saddle. Hardly ridden, black leather, 2 vent holes, stamped logos very legible. Black frame, some corrosion on nose piece, steel rivets, some corrosion. Tension adjuster in "new" position. Saddle bag loops. $36

d. Brooks Competition saddle. Almost new. Black, textured top, 3 vent holes, medium hammered copper rivets, no bag loops. Some very light corrosion on rear inside rivet attachments, light clamp marks on the rails, otherwise looks excellent. No break in marks on leather, tension adjuster may have been tightened two turns. Leather has pulled forward minutely (1mm) from rear rivets, not a problem in my experience. Rear badge is copper colored. About the size of a B17 narrow, 154mm x 280mm. $72

e. Campy NR crankset. 170 mm, 3 in a diamond markings. Arms very good to excellent, some light shoe rub and very small front deraileur scratches. Rings are 49 x 42 NR pattern. Inner shows medium wear, still usable, outer is very good. Includes Campy chainring bolts and dust caps, both very good to excellent. English pedal threads. Tapers and thread look good. No cracks on spider, no bb. $75

f. Campy NR brake set. SR levers, straight quick release calipers. Long reach, nutted attachments. Very good condition, some small rust spots on steel bits, I haven't tried to clean them. No brake shoes or holders, but star washers & adjusters with o-rings present. (Can't tell if o-rings are original.). One mounting nut is not campy. One lever has 2.5 inch scrape mark, otherwise very good used condition. Dry Modolo hoods. $90

g. Campy High Flange record hubs. 36 hole, 126mm, straight skewers. Don't know if skewers match year of hubs. Have been built and ridden before, but anondizing nice and shiny, spoke holes 100% functional. Will look fine when built. No rust on oil hole covers. Bearings feel good. No marking for freewheel thread, but English Dura Ace fw threads on fine. $110

h. Campy SL road quill pedals. Used some, but no crash marks, and no slotted cleat wear on anondizing. Has correct Campy dust caps with some light corrosion. Bearings turn smooth, but need a repack. Currently has Christophe steel md toe clips and Cibie reflectors bolted on, both can be removed. Anodizing worn off the tip of the quills from lying bike on it's side. Kick in tabs both present. $30.

i. Campy SR derallieurs. Pat 82, used but in very good + condition. No crash damage. Need a cleaning, but otherwise excellent users. Teeth on pulleys all present and good shape. Three hole cage on front, with very faint red paint fill in logo. No levers. $75

j. Campy no limit NR seat post. 27.0 mm. No heavy scratches or zig zags, a few insertion marks. The top 5 inches of post are very good except for a light 2 inch vertical scratch on the shaft at 7 o'clock. . All cradle hardware present, no significant rust. $40.

k. Motobecane Grand Touring frame, fork & headset. Vitus 172 DB tubing sticker only partially legible, I believe this is a tretubi bike. 62cm c-t seat tube, 58.5 cm c-c top tube, 43 cm chainstays, 101.5 cm wheelbase, 126 mm rear spacing. Champagne color, nice patina fade (you can see the original color where the myriad clamps used to be). Only braze ons are downtube shifter stop and rear derailleur cable stop. Two brown panels on seat tube, decals highly legible, fame is well used but still very presntable. English bb (really, I checked). Not sure of head set threading. Standard stem starts in, then binds. Some very light sanding of stem, and you're all set. Headset in frame still functional, so not an immediate problem. Front brake hanger installed. Headbadge in excellent shape. Was going to be a fixed gear, ran out of time and money. Various scuffs, nicks and rust specs here and there, but still not bad looking. $50, will deliver within 100 miles (frames take so long to pack) or $70 shipped.

Thanks for looking.
