Hello,

I just joined the list and have a few questions.

1. I have a Autocycle frameset, it was made in San Francisco in the teens, I think. I only have the frame, headbadge, bottom bracket, and crankset. I think that it is a track bike, but I'm not sure. One of the odd features is the bottom bracket shell is only about an inch wide, it is large diameter with an eccentric for tightening the chain. It has a two piece crank which comes apart in the middle of the bottom bracket. If anyone knows about these bikes or bikes with similar botom brackets, please let me know.

2. I have a Velox. I think that it is from the late thirties, it is fixed gear with lobdel wood rims, and many BSA and other british parts. It has very small diameter seat stays, I have been told that they are called pencil stays. It was made in New York. If anyone has any information on these bikes please let me know.

3. I am doiing an independant study class in Italian at UCLA on the history of Italian cycling champions, specifically Binda, Giradengo, Bartali, and Coppi. I have a fair amount of biographical info on Bartali and Coppi, less on Binda and Giradengo. I also woud like to know about the bikes that they rode, what parts they had etc. If anyone can help here it would be greatly apreciated. I only have about one week to finish this project/paper.

Thanks,

Chris Ioakimedes
