OK so a friend of mine told be that Coppi coverted to the more modern deraileur before Bartali, as is evident from a picture that I have of the 49 Tour, so Bartali had a 2 speed and Coppi had 4? This reminds me of the 1983 discussion. Has anyone out there ridden the earlier 2 speed type? Is it easy to change gears without stopping?
