Some items of idle curiosity:
Many years ago when I lived in Tucson, my mom brought me home a blue and white Dunlop/Gitane jersey from a thrift store. Never wore it much because it was too big for me -- amazingly it fits me now. I know I've seen folks wearing these jerseys in old time races, but I don't think they were continental ones. Was there an old British Dunlop/Gitane team?
In looking at some old pictures I took of early 1980s women's races, there appear women wearing shorts and jerseys that say "Masi." They aren't women from the very top level, because I don't recognize them, but they must have been good because in one picture Connie Carpenter is drafting off the Masi woman and in another Sheila Young is drafting off a different Masi woman. Masi must have sponsored a women's team in the 1980s -- anyone know the details?
Thanks much for the help and pleasant conversation.
