Hi All,

Scott Smith and I went and met with the owner of the famed *ebay Confente Masi* this afternoon. Scott's great photos are at:

Bike closes tomorrow afternoon. Here is the link if you don't have it on your saved searches:

Scott added things you'll find interesting: *Here are the photos from today. Things to mention iclude the thickness of the paint overall and how that has obscured the serial number and size. Also how the yellow paint is shimmery like the Sammotana (sp?) yellow. This bike frame is hot-rodded with its chromed rear triangle and braze-ons. A real shame considering that this is a Carlsbad Masi. The real question for Brian is what month were 62cm frames built during the first year or so (the 1200 frames). *Details about the parts include replaced center bolts on the brakes for the modified allen key fittings and the 1st generation two bolter seat post (the *find* as far as I'm concerned). Cyclone rear [der] is strange when mated to the rest of the bike. This would take serious money to return to original and shouldn't fetch more than $1000 but it will.*

I noted that the seller is a really good, honest guy, and I think if one of our own buys this bike you'll have no worries about integrity. The owner is also throwing in the yellow saddle that originally came with the bike. (Well, originally when he got it!)

A nice outing on a rainy day in L.A.
