May I appeal again for information on Oscar Egg bicycles? I have a frame and forks with Osgear dropouts and a braze on to take an Osgear. (properly known in France as a Super Champion derailleur) The frame number 10235 does not help me to date or identify it as I cannot find information on frame numbers. The shop at 43 Avenue de la Grande Armee in Paris seems to have been occupied from at least the twenties to the sixties and the range of bikes sold appears to have included trade bikes. That information I got from a catalogue page floating around the Internet. Thanks to the generous help of V-CC members here in the UK, I have photocopies of advertisements for the Osgear and I have a second generation copy of part of a prewar catalogue. I also pulled the patent specs on the Super Champion derailleurs. That is the sum total of my information so far. There is a generous amount about Oscar Egg himself but none on the cycles. There was an Oscar Egg on French ebay recently which looked as though the name survived into bike boom years but the bicycles were presumably not exparted to the USA.

The smallest piece of information might start me on the right trail and it would be very gratefully received.

Stuart Tallack frustrated because as the crow flies Paris is not far from West Sussex but might as well be the moon for all he has found on Eggs.
