I have seen short-reach block-logo Record calipers with both markings. I pretty certain that the "Brev. Inter." type are older, but I have no hard date for the change. As with all things Campy, there may have been a transition period where both types were made, depending on who-knows-what. Anyway, I routinely see both types on Ebay. The "Brev. Inter." type are more likely to have the other older parts, such as flat QRs and the cam body with "Campagnolo" fully spelled out, but do no necessarily always have these features.
Most (perhaps all) normal-reach Record calipers that I've seen are marked "Brev. Inter." A list member once suggested that the short-rech calipers all have the shorter abbreviations, but this is not the case. At least some early short-reach calipers are marked "Brev. Inter." and it is not just a question of how many letters will fit ine the smaller area of the shrt caliper.
Has anyone noticed that there are really three lengths of Record calipers? I have a set of arms that are neither short-reach nor normal-reach, but somewhere in between. I'm pretty sure on this, and will gladly take some measurements to confirm.
