I crashed yesterday morning on my classic Witcomb when I lost control on the wet "boardwalk" that runs alongthe Potomac, underneath Roosevelt Bridge. I've had a small number of serious crashes but this was the first one in which my head hit the ground hard. I suppose the lesson is that you can have a modern crash on an old bike - so, upi're right, a helmet is a really good idea even when riding a classic bike. Best regards, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia (By the way, the bike was entirely unharmed, unlike my hip which is very swollen)
