Subject: [CR]Saddle for a ca. late 1970's ALAN cross bike

What would the best choice be for a saddle for my ALAN cyclocross project? Could hack up a plastic Brooks (forget the model number; B-80?) into a swallow shape but, while it would look cool, I doubt that it would afford much in the way of comfort. They may have been introduced after this period.

Options currently in the parts bin or readily swappable include an NOS Brooks Competition (pebble grained top; B-5?), weatherbeaten B-15, a few different also weatherbeaten Ideales (39 or 90), or an Avocet Racing I. Not really excited about putting one of my good Brooks Professionals on because it will be used but will consider if the list thinks that's be the best choice. Naturally, other appropriate saddles not listed are also a possibility.

Because I'll be riding it, comfort is going to be more important than style.

Thanks, Charlie
