Bullseye hubs were available long before 1983. I loved these hubs and still have a bunch of them. Many of use use to pull off the flanges and reverse them to make a more aero front wheel. You could just pull the axles out and change lengths and the sealed bearing came out easily. But Roger's best bike part was his roller bearing bottom bracket. This is followed by his cranks where he used a a drive side welded on hollow splined spindle. I still have some of these too. But as someone said Roger is still around and I think there is a website. Roger is a great guy.
On a totally different subject. Some of you old timers may have known Barry Wolf. He died last Saturday and his funeral was Tuesday. Lots of national champions and Olympic team members present along with a handful of riders from the 50's and 60's. No warning, he died sitting in his favorite chair. His wife thought he was asleep.
