Subject: [CR]Gum Hood Refresher ????

I have a pair of Campagnolo gum hoods that are in respectable condition, but starting to show some beginning signs of drying/cracking. I applied a VERY light application of Connolly's Hide Food last evening. Today the hoods are looking much better and are far more supple. My understanding is that Hide Food is basically natural lanolin. I have used it on leather seats for many years with outstanding results.

Has anyone out there tried this before?

Anyone know what lanolin will do to the gum over time?

I must re-emphasize a dab of this stuff goes a long way.
