I am reminded of MAVICs later 'gruppo' where the brakes were Modolos with a Mavic logo laser etched on the caliper stirrup.

These were made by MAFAC and were their last brake before going out of business. I have a pair of these brakes in their presentation box which is supposed to double as an audio tape storage box... tres cool. Also have a set that came mounted on my Peugeot PRO 10 team bike from the early 1980s (custom order that took 10 months to arrive by ship to the West Coast).
The levers are neat in that the backs are completely formed and closed; very smooth. Also they are actually pantographed "M A F A C", not stamped, and the caliper is pantographed the same way. The right hand caliper arm is faired-in and the QR is hidden, as in aeroDYnamIC!
One other thing... the LS2 brakes were also available as part of the GALLI (Italy) group.
The first MAVIC brakes were MODOLOs and the second generation were Dia-Compe. I don't know who makes the current MAVIC brakes.
Anyone have MAFAC LS2 brake hoods they could sell me???
