Didn't that bike come with Sugino cranks that have a stylized crown with an S below stamped deeply just below the axle area? If so, they take "standard" Campy/Suguino/Avocet and who knows what other rings down to a 42; 41 for the Merz special. These are not particularly hard to find or expensive in "user" condition, nor particularly expensive when found at swap meets and such.
