So i managed to break BOTH adjusting screws in an attempt to clean and overhaul a badly rusted 30-yr old nouvo record derailleur. one screw is still extending from the body so there is a hope i can twist it out from below with vise grips. the other screw broke when there were only maybe 2-4 mm of screw still in the clamp body.
i could always buy a new body and screws, or a whole new derailleur, but i was more interested in not wasting any parts if i don't have to waste them. i was wondering if there were any clever tricks to remove these broken-off screws pieces, without having to completely drill and retap the aluminum derailleur body itself. thanx in advance.
