As some of you know, Dave had a positive influence on more than a few San Francisco area riders, I met him in the early 60's, don't ask me if it was 61 or 62. The outgoing, generous man, some of you met recently is the same man we met as youngsters.
Dave and Oscar Juner were great friends and I was lucky enough to attend some of their BS sessions at the coffee shop or at the American Cyclery. Oscars passing was not so much of a shock, due to his age, but the news I read last week was like a punch in the stomach, I'm still upset.
I have a proposal, in the next couple of weeks, we get together and have a tribute ride, like the one we had for Oscar. Maybe do a few laps around the Polo Field, Dave rode laps there, like we all did.
