Subject: [CR]Highlights from the 1st Annual Northwest Vintage Meet

In spite of rain early in the morning (what did we expect?) there was a great turnout at Bob Freeman's 1st Annual Pacific Northwest Vintage Bike meet, held in North Bend, WA (home of the TV show "northern lights" and lots of flat, smooth roads with minimal traffic.

Some highlights - see http://www.petry.org/markp/nwmeet03.htm

Event organizer and host Bob Freeman showed a selection of classic Davidson bikes and a brace of Paramounts - Bob wow'ed the assembled throng with a complete array of Hetchins paraphernalia including T shirt, cycling cap, musette bag, waterbottle and decals. Bob's Paramounts were complimented by Pete Brissing's very rare P10 with less than 50 miles, and a very nice chrome P13. Troy Warnick from Olympia brought a great pile of stuff including his show winning Claude Butler with Osgear and chain oiler. Nelson Miller had his stunning purple Condor and world famous Urago.

Brian Baylis was the guest of honor and he shared many insites and anecdotes with the attendees. Later in the day we had awards, test rides, and a Nels Cone sighting. A great time was had by all in a spectacular setting and with luck some of these great people and great machines will make their way to Pasadena in October.
