Subject: [CR]FS: Framesets...........

CR'ers,

I'm trying to make some room, be realistic (these are frames I have not gotten to and I have others in front of them!!) and get some money for car and house repairs (that's been the story for the summer!), therefore I have some nice Classic framesets to offer. I will list the frames alphabetically by country. All Seat Tube sizes are C-T, and Top Tube sizes are C-C. Prices include shipping (CONUS), and I have pictures but can take additional ones if anyone needs a particular angle, etc.

ENGLAND:

CLAUD BUTLER: Late 70's Olympic Road; 57cm x 57cm. 531 plain guage tubing with Prugnat lugs and Campagnolo type droputs (eyelets front & rear). Full braze-ons: cable eyes; pump peg; lamp boss; rear brake hanger; shifter bosses; two water bottle bosses. Takes a 26.6mm seat post. Brake drop w/700c wheels ~58mm. 126mm rear spacing. Red with contrasting white head tube and lovely headbadge. I am including a set of Blumel alloy fenders as I think the bike would look teriffic with them. Nice frame. $285.00

HOLDSWORTH: '76-'77 "Special" although the model may be incorrect. I have discussed this frame with Norman "K" (who maintains the Holdsworth website), and he believes it is not a Special but is a rarer model which was made in the Oakfield Road factory in '76 or '77 based upon the serial number. This frame was refinished by the factory (Norman thinks they misnamed it!!), is in beautiful condition and has not been built up since being refinished. 58cm x 57cm; 531 plain guage with nicely finished long point lugs and Campagnolo dropouts (no rear eyelets). The Holdsworth name is in panels on both the top and down tubes; Red with contrasting white head tube and a lovely Holdsworth headbadge. 41 1/4" wheelbase; 120mm spacing; 26.4mm seat post; Has top tube (on the RH side) cable guides and a rear cable stop. Bridged for 27" wheels as the brake drop with 700c wheels is 70mm. I will include a new Silca pump (white) and a new Campagnolo pump clip as well as a new Campagnolo down tube cable guide. $300.00

WHITCOMB: 1966 Road (#515666) built by Barry Whitcomb. 56cm x 56cm. 531 plain guage tubing with Campagnolo style dropouts (eyelets front & rear). Wheelbase is 42 1/2"; 120mm rear spacing; uses a 26.4mm seat post; has most braze-ons (rear stop; top of BB cable guides; top tube cable guides; pump peg) but no shifter bosses or water bottle bosses. This frame was also refinished by the factory several years ago, and except for a couple of small nicks, is practically perfect. Bridged for 27" wheels. The brake drop with 700c wheels is 70mm. $295.00.

FRANCE:

FOLLIS: 1974 Mod 472. 58cm x 56cm. Full 531 with Campagnolo dropouts (with eyelets) and Nervex Pro lugs. 39 1/2" wheelbase; 120mm rear spacing; French threading; no braze-ons and uses a 26.6mm seat post. $165.00.

MOTOBECANE: 1970 Le Champion. 58cm x 55cm. Full 531 with Campagnolo drop outs (with eyelets), long point lugs (the catalog refers to them as "Professional Racing Special"), and has the old style headbadge. 39" wheelbase; 120mm r ear spacing; French threading; no braze-ons and also uses a 26.6mm seat post. Decals are intact (except for remnants of the Reynolds 531) and the paint, while also in reasonable shape for its age, has a nice level of patina. I've cleaned it up some, but with time and effort, I suspect this could be a real "gem" for someone, as this is a classic French racing frame, and was Motobecane's top frame in 1970. $175.00

PEUGEOT: 1974 PR 10. 58cm x 57cm. DB 531 main tubes; Nervex lugs; and Peugeot lightweight tubing for the stays and fork; Simplex drop outs (with eyelets) with Simplex hanger which requires a French derailleur, or to be tapped for a standard derailleur. The only braze-on is the rear cable stop, but it does include a Campagnolo down tube cable guide. 39 3/4" wheelbase; 120mm rear spacing; French threading; 26.4mm seat post. This model was the next model down from the PX 10 and looks very similar to a PX 10. In very good shape with a few chips on the chain stay (easily touched up). I'm including a Simplex Prestige rear derailleur (in very good condition) and a new pair of Suntour clamp-on shifters. $100.00

ITALY

BOTTECCHIA: 1969-70. 56cm x 55cm. Columbus tubing (the decal is still intact but does not indicate tubing model - however this is a pretty light frame so I suspect SL or its predecessor?) with chrome head lugs, partially chromed fork and stays, and Campagnolo dropouts (with eyelets). 40" wheelbase; 120mm rear spacing; no braze-ons; 27.2mm seat post. No down or seat tube Bottecchia decals, but it does have the Columbus decal and the Bottecchia head badge. The chrome is in very good condition, but there are a couple of places (fork and chain stay) where the paint is missing and the chrome is exposed (~2" in each place), but overall, the frame is in nice condition for its age. I will include a Carnielli stem with the frame. $195.00

I will try and answer any additional questions, as well as supply additional pictures as requested. Should anyone be interested in components, I can provide parts (NOS and used/exc) which would have been original equipment on some of these frames, and will do a "package" deal for anyone interested.

Thanks,
