Jobst's book does have a few problems. The theory is good, but he makes no
cautions about finding a practical limit to his theoretical excesses. Loading as
much tension into wheels as he recommends will destroy most vintage rims
except the Mavic clinchers that he likes, the E2. He says he won't ride on
anything else. Wheelsmith had a problem with exploding hub flanges for awhile, by
following his tensioning advice too literally.
