Lou,
Just getting to my computer after being out of service for about 10 days. There will be LOTS of catching up to do with my email; sorting through 785(!!) emails right now.
Noticed your post regarding Calif. paint shops. You mentioned that I am cutting back on my personal painting operation. That isn't exactly correct. There is a potential deal in the works that will EXPAND my involvment in the paint/restoration business, actually. A partnership is possibly in the works. The purpose is to train a qualified person to take on most of my restoration paint load in an expanded workshop. I will train my partner until no one can tell my hand from my counterpart, by looking at the finished results.
We also plan to specialize in a few things that I will announce later. The obvious intent will be to serve the vintage bike community. As always, my focus will be on quality and friendly service without compromise. I will continue to update everyone as this project progresses. Needless to say, I'm very excited.
This will take some time, but my purpose is to cover my repaint jobs in a MUCH more timely manner. At present I'm completely buried in paint and can't get clear to focus on framebuilding; which I plan to keep at about 6 to 8 frames per year.
Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA I hate having to fumble through computer stuff. It's been hell.

This comes on the heels of Brian Baylis saying he wants to cut back on his personal painting business. Is this just a coincidence or is there something in the California laws that is making the operation of such a business much more difficult? Joe, you're not moving to Nevada, are you??
