If it helps you any, I use a Ti Swift on an aggressive race bike, and B-17 on all other bikes. B-17 feels totally different than Swift, but I find the Swift very comfortable.

Just put on a ti B-17 on a new bike and it was instantly comfortable. Two 70 mile and one 100 mile rides on a new saddle with complete comfort.

The Swift feels like it has a high spot in the middle, but I can still ride 100 miles with comfort.

Don't think that the Brooks thing is plaecebo, but neither it is understandable to me.
