I have just been given some old Coureur Sporting Cyclist's magazines form the 1960's. In the November 1962 issue of these magazines is an interesting article on Roy Manser a very good Kentish time triallist of the era. Roy was famous for making his own frames and in the article it states that sometime between the Winter of 1959-1960 he made a frame equipped with a single bolt seat pin of his own making and design. This seat pillar was made from bits and pieces of old alloy con rods. Was this the first single bolt pillar?. His frames look first class in the pictures and were way ahead of their time.

Thats all for now. Keep those wheels spinning, in your memories if not still on the road. Be lucky Mick Butler Huntingdon UK.
