I had to comment on the previous comments. I believe blaming the lack of collectors for this bike is missing the point. There are quite a few folks who would like a good old historical and mechanically interesting bike like this for the $700 plus that it went for. I myself would have loved to pick this one up but there are a lot of factors that go into bidding on ebay. First dealing with a unknown seller from Italy and the costs and hassles associated with it factor greatly in my view. Also money is tight but not so tight that one would not go for a great deal. We on the east coast are just a few weeks away for several bike/car shows that have a way of absorbing funds. It is also a buyers market right now, all collectible bikes on ebay are somewhat depressed. For me, I do not have unlimited funds and use my hobby to support my hobby. There are a lot of collectors who collect from various periods in time so I do not agree that the "Nostalgia" factor is a consideration. My take is that if you are patient, have the time, do your homework and basically live on ebay you can come up with a good deal on anything. It is more a matter of luck than anything else. How many out there would have bid higher than the winning bid if they knew in advance what it would have gone for?
