My brother Dave and I rode the San Luis Obispo (CA) Lighthouse Century on Saturday. My bike, a 1969 Ives, was possibly the oldest bike in the event. The Ives and I both held up well, considering our ages (I'm older than the bike by 9 years.)
We took the hilly option, which was interesting and difficult, but not as bad as the fierce headwinds going north on the coast. The triple that the original owner installed some years ago was put to good use. The tailwind on the return was great, as you can imagine.
For those of you who haven't done this ride, I highly recommend it.
