Regarding squeaky chains; Harvey Sachs writes;

In cold weather (Cleveland) there were two problems:  it shed flakes of white paraffin (duh!), and the chain forgot to bend while going around the cogs.   Skip-to-my-Lou or worse.

Please try a product called Chainwax as sold by Melting Point Industries in Ca. This slightly red product contains ptfe in the wax. After the initial wax exterior buildup "flakes off",The chain remains lubricated and the drive train is quieted. I ride all year and Skipping has never been an Issue.
