Subject: [CR]Photo of 1900s racer needed

For VBQ 3, I will reprint a story of a racer riding from San Francisco to LA in 1902. The story originally was printed in a magazine many years ago. It was accompanied by a photo, but the xerox I have does not allow reproduction.

So I am looking for a photo of a 1902 racing bike - diamond frame, no fenders, swept-back bars, fixed gear, the usual. Does anybody have such a bike or photo that they might lend/scan for publication. (Obviously, the caption will say something like: "The rider's bike was similar to the machine above... Photo courtesy of xxxx.)

While I cannot pay for the photo, you'd get a free issue of the magazine for your efforts (or an extension of your subscription by 1 issue.)

Thanks,

Jan
