Us Campy guys used to say "bar end" shifter back in the 70s, I should have put that in the post as a completely acceptable alternative! BarCon just makes me immediately think SunTour, and I tried them and just hated them. All the subtle feedback you get through the Campys is eaten up in the ratchet mechanism of the SunTours. I took the BarCons off immediately and put the "bar ends" back on! They are truly different beasts! FWIW, I tried the Shimanos (with the return spring) and didn't like those as well either. I recall they had some materials or machining problem and didn't like being assembled/disassembled. Stevan Thomas "I guess I'd rather be a geek than a weenie" Alameda, CA
