Just acquired a 1960's PX-10 with Nervex Pro lugs and the plain gold Peugeot
decal on the downtube.I'd like to restore it to more or less duplicate what
Eddy Merckx might have ridden when he was riding for Peugeot.
The 1970 Eugene Sloane book lists the following: Stronglight Super 63 Comp
cranks, Normandy luxe Competition high flange hubs with Simplex QR, Simplex
Prestige 537 derailleurs, Mavic Montlhery tubular rims, Robergel spokes, AVA
bar and stem, Brooks Pro, Simplex post, Mafac Racer brakes, Lyotard 45CA
pedals.
Anybody know how well this list corresponds to Eddy's bikes?
What Mavic clincher would be appropriate instead of the tubulars?
Is it true that his (His) frames were built by Masi?
Thanks,
Josh Berger
