I like the Suntours, used them for a few years. I think they've got a larger barrel, moves a lot of derailleur, the clicks make for a smooth upshift and they were easy to adjust. I still have at least one or two pairs in the spare parts bin.
The Shimano's were a pain to set up, kinda grabby, the upshifts were easy, you had to push it hard to get it back down (usually the easy part). I just didn't like them, probably still have a set though. I just don't get rid of anything!
The Campy's when set up just seem really smooth. They're predictable. I've got 'em set up with a NR front and rear on an old beater that I don't use much anymore. I've also got 'em set up on a Richard Sachs tourer with a Ti Huret Duopar on the rear and a Suntour Mountech front. Its a sensitive setup that shifts just beautifully. I've liked the shifters so much that I've managed to keep good sets around, even got the colored plastic lever colors to match the bike from Larry Black when he had 'em in almost all colors. I've still got at least a spare set and a half to keep them going till whenever. I would like to get a few of those little 8 mm lock nuts though, the chrome on them just doesn't hold up over the years.
Dan, Do you have to be a Campyphile to like these shifters?, Artley

This is the first place where I have seen someone prefer the Campy Bar
Ends over the SunTour Bar Cons. Everyone I have talked to who has used
both would not recommend the Campy Bar Ends at all. In fact the prices of
each seems to tell a story also. The Bar Cons are almost always more
expensive than the Bar Ends when ever I see them for sale. I wonder what
the rest of the forum thinks?
