I'd like to add a recent experience that I had with this same seller, of the same negative heads up Caveat Emptor variety.

I placed a small bid to watch an item (it was a set of NR brakes; for my recently acquired finally On Topic 1979 Mercian). My bid was cancelled.

The seller noted that I had withdrawn bids recently (and I had, and I do btw: I may cancel a bid when a seller significantly changes a description, often enough a seller will say it's okay, even ...and this seems an entirely reasonable practice to me). His note wasn't exactly as polite as my mention of the cancellation ...actually, it was bloody rude.

So I posted the seller, asking (in a reasonable manner), what did he mean by that, exactly? (I really thought it was a simple mistake, or misunderstanding that could be easily cleared up.) The largely illiterate response I received was [also] rude & offensive & threatening.

And illogical, and as such, vastly amusing.

He claimed at one point in his first post (yes, I suffered through a couple) that he'd detected a "pattern" in my bidding ...this from my single negative feedback, some four years and over 700 positive feedbacks ago. That includes over 160 positives in the last six months. All my feedback is as a buyer (heck, I've probably purchased stuff from half the active sellers in the CR list as far as that goes). Just to put things in perspective ....

He was also going to warn other sellers about me, and see if he couldn't get eBay to close my account. Said I was a very bad risk, and that people like me yada-yada-yada ....

700 positives. One negative. 4 years.

Sheesh.

I would recommend that you be very hesitant in dealing with the seller, regardless of the deal ...too volatile ...not very, shall we say "astute"?

I really should have read his ad copy more closely, as it was plain that he was a potential problem.

NOT RECOMMENDED!

My two bits ...

know if they made one in this style. There is no decals on the frame and
just a couple on the fork though they don't say derosa either. I've emailed
the seller but haven't recieved a response yet. Course if it isn't this is a
good outing for a super record group if anyone's looking. Russ Roth, Albany,
