I've heard the same answer that David gave you many times, but I'm not sure it's totally correct. There are at least 2 variations between 78 and 82 I believe.
1)The pad holders could be steel or aluminum and still have the rubber coating. 2)The round qr housing can have "campagnolo brev." or just "brev. camp" on the face.
My guess is that the generation that came after the "flat qr & no rubber wheel guides" still had steel wheel guides and the "campagnolo brev" on the round qr housing, and domed lever, that would be '79 and maybe '80. Then in '81 or '82 they had aluminum pad holders, and the qr housing was switched to "brev. camp".
I have both these versions, but of course I couldn't swear that they came that way from the factory. If you'd like pictures, let me know.

They are nutted and as you look at them, Campagnolo is on the right arm with
gradually increasing size of the letters (all caps). The right arm has BREV.INT. The quick release lever is the "measuring spoon" type but is not flimsy as some I have seen. The outside of the QR lever has <c> (enclosed), and the outside plate (cam) of the QR mechanism has BREV CAMP. The adjuster rubber is black and the plate (adjusting nut) for the rubber has BREV CAMPAGNOLO. The top of the brake center bolt has PATENT on it. The brakes have the block guides (BREV CAMPAGNOLO)
