The only tie-in I can see with fruitcake* would be the century ride they do in November in Claxton, Georgia - yes, the fruitcake capital of the world. I keep meaning to go do that ride sometime to see if there are any interesting vintage bikes.
*of course, this all depends on one's definition of fruitcake. Where I grew up, they were regarded as great doorstops. Though many years ago, one of the Georgia newspapers did a full-page feature spread on uses of fruitcake, including what temperature was needed to burn them, etc.
Oh, yeah - and speaking of fruitcakes, I am bouncing around like one at the moment. CR content (neo-classical style) - I was notified this morning that my Mercian Vincitore road/path is ready for "despatch."
