To all that replied...

I've got your emails, and as soon as Michael emails me back (its the weekend in Australia too, and Michael likes to fish) I'll get more of an idea on price and put together an order for him.

Since Michael is not a cyclist, the specs on this tape are going to have to come from us. No stitching, for those who asked, no holes, unless you want to make some yourself.

Yes, the edges will be beveled, which is why I want to get the material from a leather craftsman and not a leather shop. I know that whip braiders use the hide near the spine - its the best, most uniformly pored, and less likely to be scarred up, as apparently kangaroos have a lot of accidents.

Oh another kangaroo fact - the red kangaroo, which has fur, has a very fine hide, where the gray, which has hair, has larger pores and a thicker, larger pored hide.

I'm figuring 3cm is a good width for wrapping, but how long? Remember, that the tape will come in one roll that you will have to cut in half, and cut 2 little sections for around the hoods too.

So far, I've heard lots of interesting ideas - two different people would like it to match a honey colored Brooks saddle. Stylin!
