I don't know how characteristic that is in 1950's frames but front and rear brake reach differences are not uncommon. A number of bikes in the '70's used Weinmann 610(front)/750(rear) brake caliper combinations.

Aldo - I couldn't find any instructions for using the tool in that article - all I found was the advice NOT to use it at all:
"The Park HTS-1 is designed to push the head-tube angle back, but it does not repair the damage. The real problem with these buckled tubes is not the change of head-tube angle, but the buckling itself, [snipped] The only legitimate repair, consequently, is to have the damaged tubes replaced by a framebuilder. This option is rarely financially sensible. When buckled tubes are detected, always advise the customer the bike is unrideable and unrepairable."

On the inside back cover , are frame dimensions for the 1977 Schwinn Paramounts ( none of the others , just Paramounts ) .
Listed are the ; seat tube length , top tube length , wheelbase , two frame angles , bottom bracket drop , and fork rake , for the three groups of single bikes . The P13 is all by itself . The Touring models are all grouped together . The Track is all by itself .

I don't have a scanner .
These measurements should be all be exactly the same for all years from 1972 , through 1979 . Wish I knew about 1971 .
Schwinn consistently called the seat tube the "seat mast" . Schwinn referred to bottom bracket drop as "hanger drop" .
Every 1977 Paramount had parallel 73 degree frame angles , except the Track Paramount . It had parallel 74 degree frame angles .
Every 1977 Paramount had 3 inches of "hanger drop" except the Track Paramount . It had 2 and 1/2 inches of "hanger drop" .
All 1977 P13 Paramounts had 1 and 3/4 inches of fork rake . The 1977 P13 :
seat tube - 23 inches top tube - 22 3/16 inches wheelbase - 39 15/16 inches
seat tube - 24 inches top tube - 23 inches wheelbase - 40 3/4 inches
seat tube - 25 inches top tube - 23 1/2 inches wheelbase - 41 1/4 inches
All 1977 Touring Paramounts had 2 inches of fork rake . The 1977 Touring Paramounts :

Looks like the difference in the chain stays , between the P13 & the Touring , is 3/8 inch , for frames sizes 23-inch and 24-inch , and 1/4 inch , for frame size 25-inch .

Well, I'm finally back from a whirl-wind tour of Dubai, Copenhagen and the Midlands area of the UK. I have some interesting bicycle-related tales, one concerning crawling through the attic above the Banani shop and frame-building facility (uh, shed) in Copenhagen, looking at old frames and parts. New frames with Nervex lugs still hanging in the store. Interesting. Even have some pictures to share once I get organized (yea, like that's gonna happen anytime soon).
But first, more pressing matters. Yes, kids, the Westminster swap is this Sunday. Info is here:

So, come on down. I'm not really bringing much, because I just haven't had time to dig and prepare. Basically, I'm taking the crate that's still in the middle of the shop floor from T-Town, with whatever else I can throw in on Saturday afternoon. Tom's idea to bring some things to display is cool, so I need to think of that too. However, I'd caution everyone that space is pretty tight, depending which "room" you are in. The Carroll County AG Center is comprised of a narrow row of connected buildings, some of which differ significantly in what might be referred to as amenities, such as "heating". The first, or main building, where the primary entrance is, is the nicest, but also the most cramped. The other buildings are more open, but more industrial (agricultural?). Each vendor gets a six foot table and two chairs. In the main room, the tables are squeezed in pretty tightly. Last year I had a space in the center row of one of the "middle" buildings, which offered significantly more "elbow room" than the front room, where I had been in prior years.
Nonetheless, it's a chance to shake off those Winter doldrums and get some bike-focus time. (Oh, shut up, you So-Cal smugs, it's been single digits here!!)
Looking forward to seeing some old and new friends this weekend!!
