Hello AllThis bike looks to be an original unmolested bike. Since it's at a bike shop located just a few blocks from my alma mater (who opened a big can of wuppass on Iowa), I stopped by to take a look at it. There are no frame markings/decals/serial numbers to indicate the marque, but it appears to be a well built example. I don't think the pedals are original. They look to be old cut down quill pedals, but done while the bike was still in service. The wood rims still spin true and look like they would clean up nicely, as would the hubs - I think the front wheel is missing the axle nuts however. The chain looks to be the original block chain, itself sometimes worth about $100 on eBay. The paint is worn but has a nice patina. On the top tube there is a large puddle of melted now hardened wax/plastic that is going to take some effort to remove but if done carefully probably won't mar the paint. It doesn't look like its covering a frame dent, but looks more like a storage mishap. The bars/stem/headset are somewhat rusty but match the overall patina. Finding a correct seatpost and saddle will provide the new owner with countless hours of entertainment.Off topic WTB:My brother in law desires to get involved with cycling and is looking to buy a quality modern (meaning Ergo shifting) bike. His requirements:60cm c-c,Italian or U.S. built, no Far EastAl, Carbon, Ti, or lugged steel - he doesn't have a preference, Campy Record, Chorus or Shimanoin other words, not really picky, just desires a nice looking bike,no beaters, for Sunday rides. He's asked for my help in slogging through the eBay quagmire so I thought I'd try this venue first. Pricewise, C40s are out of the picture but something in the $1k +/- should do the job. Please contact me offlist if you have such a bike to sell.
